Bestämmelser om utbildning finns både för transport av farligt gods på väg och järnväg, det vill säga i såväl föreskrifterna ADR-S som RID-S. Utbildningsformerna brukar benämnas förarutbildning respektive 1.3-utbildning. ADR innebär en säkerhetsutbildning inom transport av farligt gods. Om du som förare ska transportera farligt gods måste du enligt MSBFS 2016:8 föreskrifter om transport av farligt gods på väg och i terräng (ADR-S) ha genomgått en ADR utbildning för att kunna hantera farligt gods korrekt, samt ha kunskap om de säkerhetsregler som gäller för att minimera skador för dig, din egendom samt miljön.
